Some people called me in the UK and expressed disapproval about my choice to be a Christian.

I'm not really a full Christian.

I'm more like a Judeo-Christian.

When people ask me, I often say I'm secular, as it is the most truthful response.

It stops a lot of confusion.

When you are an expert, you can explain at five levels: for little children, for teenagers, for younger students, advanced learners and professors.

Sometimes, when it's obvious I know more, the best thing to do is tell them what they will understand.

And to me, "I'm secular" works wonders.

It helps avoid their expectations.

Those expectations are handled more easily.
