Story

I went to 2 good business schools. When I'm leading Cyberspace Command, I only pay out of our profits to everyone. I share 15% and 35% with my team. It works out at $100,000 profit: $50,000 payout. The best part is that I don't have any costs or overheads and my team are motivated to survive.

I expect substantial profits this year, however, I have already decided I will permanently keep this survival bootstraping start up culture. This Covid19 is a good wake up call to rethink our business strategies. It's times like these that force us to adjust or die off. We need to reformulate our formulas. We gotta be more practical and pragmatic: what works and what doesn't work?

Singapore Airlines is really great, McKinsey and Company Singapore may advise you differently, but I suggest you shift to paying out of the profits as well. Swiss Air listened to McKinsey and bought shares in every airline and failed miserably, you can't trust them. This way you survive, and you do better. You weather the storm and turbulence.
