I am watching this great MasterClass on Advertising by Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein.

They are teaching about the time they pitched an advertising campaign to Porsche. They pitched twice, the first time, they screwed up.

They learned that these are Germans. Germans did not like how these guys came inside with suits, then took off the suits, rolled up the sleeves like they were slobs, then when talking, talked over each other, which made it look as though they did not trust each other.

Insightful.

I follow California culture, which is liberal. So, I run my firm in a liberal way. I do not like conservative, traditional types. I do not hire difficult people.

I also know I am not perfect for SL culture. The culture here is a chicken and egg culture where we are ranked 100 out of 195 countries and at the same time, people are incredibly proud to keep things as they are, 100 out of 195 style.

I want reform/ progress/ modernising/ market maturing, I need SL to be top 10, number 1.

I just need to be number 1, not number 100 out of 195, I need to be number 1. This is simple. It is just my character.

I have since adjusted to SL culture. I use my team who are perfectly compatible.

People are increasingly understanding as well.

A lot of big guys love me.

Nanda Fernando does not like how I tell everyone he special treats me by giving me his WhatsApp, it is a betrayal in SL, but at the same time, he knows he will be valued by our COYLE for having done so in SL, for having chosen to have respected me for my dad.
