Finishing Cuckoo's Nest and Connecting Its Cruelty Back to Sri Lanka

November 10, 2021

The visible page starts with disappointment in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and its lobotomy ending, then turns outward into disgust at how similar cruelty, pettiness, and social sickness show up in Sri Lanka and other developing regions too.

I saw the whole One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It wasn't very good. The ending was stupid. Guy got blamed for a suicide, then lobotomised.

Quite saddening.

Sri Lanka side, I mean, we are just trying to develop the country very quickly. There's nothing much else. It is sad that the people behave in a way like this. It's quite sickening really. But it happens in Asia, in Africa, in the Middle East, in South America.

If you read through Lasantha's articles. It is not that bad for us at all. Nothing bad. It is just making Thilanga look cool. No evidence of any motive or crimes.

I did 10 minutes of hard running on my elliptical machine listening to some music like Dean Martin's Mambo Italiano, MGMT's My Little Dark Age, Foster and the People's Pumped Up Kicks and then Taylor Swift's Wildest Dreams.

I had Thai fish fillet and Thai rice with Thai Red Curry for dinner. My mum kept my coke bottle outside, so it was warm. I still drank a bit of warm coke, not bad. It even had bubbles. I hope we can get carbonation tanks to get those bubbles I love. I kept it in the fridge.

I can eat my leftover pizza later tonight when I get hungry. I am studying the Oscars/ Academy Awards guidelines. I want to contest in this. I want to try and win a Best Picture award at the Oscars. But not Best Foreign Film as with Jonathan's help in California we can play it locally in US.

I like movies. Everyone loves movies. I think that people like Chandran Ratnam and various individuals, we can use their help to make these movies. I like my script a lot, it is a good first effort. It looks promising. I want to try to shoot it in 35mm, but maybe first in a mobile phone.

I feel strongly that in order to win at the Oscars, there is a lot of politics of subjectivity, that is, there is a lot of persuasive lobbying involved, you must be well-connected, spend a lot and do a lot of hard work behind the scenes.

I am happy even if there are good songs in this movie. I can have professional singers sing those songs. This does not disqualify the actors. It is going to be pretty cool.

I think anyone who is studying film. They must watch a movie twice. This is because, the first time you watch it, you are in for surprises. The second time you watch it, you know what to expect, and you get to catch the clues that will result in what you know will happen. Which is why some movies that win the Oscars for Best Picture are so horrific, they are terrible to watch the first time, so, I won't look again.

I hate the parental guidance ratings. Without violence, nudity and everything parent's hate, the movie isn't good, it's not artistic. It is quite awful. I personally love a lot of violence, I enjoy it, when there are bad things happening in it. I don't know why.

I hate how Saving Private Ryan didn't win against Harvey Weinstein's stupid chickflick Shakespeare in Love. I loved how those long bullets, when fired, I saw this upstairs in our home cinema with my dad/ Thathi/ Palith, those mean nasty bullets tore through the soldiers. I was such a bad guy back then too. I loved to see the gore. The blood in the water. The fear, the violence. The way those intestines were all ripped out by the big bullets. : D

I am going to read through this book. Skip through the scenes in this stupid movie. Then watch Sleeping Dictionary. This guy, Chandran Rutnam got to hang out with Jessica Alba on set, which is soo cool. Eminem's band D12, and never myself, would jealously pull a knife on him. This Rockstar s*** is the life for me! 😛
