I'm thinking that a Inspiron 16 Plus is most likely a better pick.

Because I don't need this machine for video gaming.

I need it for basic stuff. To be honest, we're only buying this with so much stuff, to make it somewhat future proof.

I get the vibe that Alienware is a good pick.

I hate how the thing is plastic and rubber. I really want aluminium.

X17 R2 is a better pick. It's aluminium. Even these Dell Precision 3000 series are available but they are plastic. I don't want that.

Even a Macbook Air M1 sounds lovely. I'm only using it for business. Should earn enough this year to buy a Rolls Royce honestly.
