I would say, UNP has great capitalism. But they fell short, because of how they didn't honor or show loyalty to the businesspeople who helped them. They struggled to restore their name, after they let very bad people evade justice, notably their political opponents. The SLFP, i would identify with, because of how they are socialists, Chandrika did an exceptional job as PM. But they were also kind of violent, vs Premadasa, and they did struggle. Rajapaksa took over, but he switched to nationalist, and it worked well for him. The JVP are communists, like LSSP. But they have like China, evolved to modern communism, which is state capitalism, where the gov't owns all of the state businesses, to keep control, over things.
I would no longer identify as any of those. I am described as "right wing" or center right, highly populist, or charismatic, and somewhat, capitalist, and hyper socially liberal, which is not a good mix and match. Because right wing people tend to be socially conservative, and people as liberal as me, often expect a lot of high taxes, to pay for their things, with free giveaways. People often characterize me as right wing, pro Trump, pro Israel, and anti Islamist. Most people judge me as nationalist, but I would see myself, as globalist, expansionist. I would argue, Britain's colonial policy, and American expansionist behavior, is as nationalist as you can get, as you are making money off everyone. But it's controversial. I voted for Sajith, Ranil, and Sarath Fonseka, as my 3 preferential votes. I didn't vote for Anura, but I spoke up for him, in public, because I respected him more than Ranil and Sajith. I felt compelled to vote for Sajith, purely for economic policy, which Harsha, and the US embassy and whomever the f***, told them to write. But I am glad, and don't regret how they lost, Sajith would have done f*** all, he didn't do anything in power, and neither did Ranil. All of them were entirely inconsequential, disappointing and even Anura with his better half: Harini, won't deliver Sri Lanka to prosperity at this pace. There have been 0 real investors coming in, 0 real results, 0 executions of serious criminals. They are keeping their promises, though. I just see a lot of let's stay neutral, and non aligned at all costs, kind of constipation, where nobody's satisfied, to keep everyone unhappy or at peace through defeat.
I don't see how in 2027, Sri Lanka will develop, without big changes, positive events or any big changes. AngryPages is a tiny, miniscule publisher, we promote the island, but there's no big whatever for us to show, nothing to sell or prove.
