I’m Lehan, founder of AngryPages, a California publisher. I studied your story before writing to you, and I think there is a very good book sitting there.
Your father, Herbert Cooray, started the hospitality business in Negombo in 1973, after a Swedish tour operator encouraged him to build a hotel. Then, when you were only 25, your father put you in charge and essentially told you that if Castro could run a country at 29, you could run a small company at 25. You could have stayed overseas. You’ve spoken about having a girlfriend in America and potentially building your life there, but your father told you to come home.
