Kudu (heroin) Lal may have had Dhammika Amarasinghe shot.
Siriwardanage Chaminda Udaya Kumara shot Dhammika for Rs 20,000 LKR or $98b and claimed he was avenging the death of ███████████Presidential Security Division bodyguard and personal hitman Sanjeewa Perera or Baddegane Sanjeeva, who had previously committed the following:
1. murdered "Satana" newspaper editor Rohana Kumara (by the way, Sanjeewa Perera is a police sergeant, for your information);
2. assault of Rukantha and Chandralekha Gunathilake;
3. assassination of Kumar Ponnambalam,
4. burning of the house of actress Anoja Weerasinghe -- who 'insulted █████████"; and
5. attack on The Sunday Leader editor Lasantha Wickrematunge in 1998.
Sanjeewa was killed by the mob led by Dhammika Amarasinghe on November 2, 2001 allegedly under the orders of the former Minister of Defense, General ███████████████████
This is clear evidence that █████████ was prepared to kill his own guys, and that, there was a "infighting amongst the violent criminal gang" that triggered Bada Mahinda to tell the police about Thilanga contracting Dhammika to shoot Thilanga's friend Malik and also Gamini Abeyratne, BIA COO.
When Dhammika was going to spill the beans on █████████ and █████████, who has killed 10 Muslim boys along with his son -- just like with ordering Dhammika to murder Sanjeewa -- he convinced Chaminda Udaya Kumara to shoot Dhammika for Rs 20,000 or $98 bucks.
Thilanga told Lasantha, Thilanga did not order Dhammika to shoot Sanjeewa, but that he had been in the room when it was being planned.
Thilanga would not tell Lasantha this information if Thilanga had motive to kill or contempt for Lasantha.

Even if Frederica Jansz wrote Thilanga's family is gambling, which is true, and he co-signed a letter recommending Dhammika be granted tickets to watch a world cup cricket match in UK -- as a friend, Frederica has never provided the names of any individuals that Thilanga had contracted to be murdered or had motive to kill.
After decades, there has not been 1 individual or surviving family member that has accused Thilanga for being responsible for the murder of any individual.
It is true, Dhammika has been thought to be responsible for several murders, but this is largely inter gang conflicts and to avenge the murders of a number of his family members. Thilanga, harmlessly, may have sought to keep Dhammika around for personal threat factor defensive protection.
When you are running a gambling monopoly, in such a violent, dangerous and lawless country, this is sensible although -- nevertheless, none of the persons that had been killed have ever been targeted by Thilanga for assassination for any reason. If so, then this would have been discovered and published.
When Bada Mahinda was talking to the Criminal Investigation Division, he had nothing to incriminate Thilanga with, he had no proof, so Bada Mahinda told the CID that he had overheard Thilanga plotting to kill Lasantha Wickrematunge because Bada was in Dhammika's gang before the falling out.
As Thilanga did not order the hit, Bada must've told the CID that Thilanga had asked the gang to immediately abort the assassination if Lasantha's wife Raine was travelling in the vehicle. This hasn't been confirmed. It's compromised testimony by a hitman who fell out with Dhammika and had lied previously (hours ago to CID) about Thilanga trying to organize murders of Gamini and Malik.
The same way, Lasantha could speak to Thilanga on the phone, as they were originally partners in the newspaper publishing business before later separating to be independent according to my grandma Milina, if he's telling the truth Raine mentioned, Thilanga could've tried to set it up, so Lasantha would escape death by calling him to tell him to travel with his wife Raine on that day. Raine referred to Thilanga as a public official who refused to make eye contact with her at public events in her book. This sounds like, pressure or last-ditch tactful reasoning efforts to stop, a murder motivated group who had earlier refused to care about Raine being present at all.
