Interesting idea: Stockholm Syndrome
I think, more, along the lines of, the kidnappers, they get bonds with hostages, not only because of power dynamics or survival, but because the hostages have the reverse karma link, wherein, they know, that the kidnappers are alive, because of them, the hostages, and that's what really builds Stockholm Syndrome.
Over here, they develop empathy for the hostages. It's like Stockholm syndrome reversed, which is very eye opening.
