The only time I met Sanders was when I was sent to the principal's office for "too many detentions"

I was waiting with Thevin Gamage, and then he came out to see me

He said, "Congratulations," thinking I had done something good

I shook his hand and thanked him sincerely, before his helpful secretary gently corrected him

Even so, he clearly recognized me then

I smiled

I haven't changed

I still feel confident about myself

My attendance was low — less than 20 percent, maybe as little as 10%
