I sometimes imagine a fun “dream team” government in my head.

I sometimes imagine a fun “dream team” government in my head. In that picture, Donald Trump was smart to give Elon Musk a special new department that focuses on technology and transport, because it could really improve how efficiently things run.

I picture Larry Page as Treasury Secretary, helping guide money and digital systems. If not there, I could see him or Mark Zuckerberg at the Treasury or even at the Federal Reserve, using tools like APT to help modernise everything.

I imagine Vivek Ramaswamy looking after Agriculture, making sure farmers are heard and treated fairly. For Energy, I think of people like Charles or David Koch, or even an actor like Billy Bob Thornton, just for the fun of it.

For voices with a strong “American heartland” feel, I picture Dick Cheney, or actors like Kevin Costner from Yellowstone, or other people with a warm Southern accent helping in energy or land decisions.

For Veterans Affairs, I’d love someone like Bruce Springsteen, Alan Jackson, Lee Greenwood or another person close to President Bush’s world—people whose music and stories honour soldiers and their families.

For Homeland Security, I imagine Seth MacFarlane or even Snoop Dogg in a playful way, bringing creativity and fresh thinking to tough topics. For Housing, I picture Howard Stern trying to cut through red tape and speak honestly about everyday problems.

For Health, I sometimes picture Oprah Winfrey, because she talks a lot about wellness and personal growth. I also imagine Sheryl Sandberg in a health or social-care role, because she often speaks with grace and empathy, and even Taylor Swift, since she connects so well with young people and families.

For Secretary of the Interior, I’d think of Marco Rubio, helping care for parks, land and natural resources. As Attorney General, I might again imagine someone like Howard Stern in a fictional world, asking blunt questions and trying to stand up for fairness.

In the end, I joke that there’s a real shortage of perfect leaders, and I’d probably still look at Donald Trump and ask if he knows anyone in real estate who could help run Housing too.
