Dr. Gamini Kariyawasam is a retired Sri Lanka Administrative Service officer whose four-decade career took him from sound controller at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation to senior posts including Municipal Commissioner of Kandy, Director General of Broadcasting, General Manager of ITN, and Sri Lankan Consul General in Bonn, Germany. After retiring, he continued in leadership roles including Sri Lanka's mangrove conservation project with Seacology and the construction of Nagananda International Buddhist University.
This memoir, translated into English by Lehan Edirisinghe, is his own first-hand account of that career.
