Sri Lankan wildlife photographer, writer, and practicing lawyer
Shaminda Silva is a Sri Lankan wildlife photographer, writer, and practicing lawyer. Yala first sparked his interest in Sri Lanka's wild places, but he has come to call Wilpattu National Park his second home, travelling there several times a year since its reopening in 2003.
He is the author of the Wilds of Lanka series, drawing on decades of firsthand travel through Wilpattu, Ritigala, Thanthirimale, and Mannar. Volume 1 is now out of print; Volume 2 continues to be sold in print to visitors at limited locations. A third volume is in progress.
Silva holds full publishing rights to his written work and photography across the series.
