I'm very sorry to read this. Innocent people are tricked. I work in cyber security and even the most clever, educated professionals working in banks fall victim to scams like this. I've seen many videos of Indian scammers on YouTube attempt to steal money. It can happen to anybody. Always be confident, check and don't hide things from your friends and family.
