Rejection Stung, Beef Memories Returned, and the Pivot Got Harder

February 26, 2020

Rejection, job filtering, food memory, Mirtazapine, and stalled outreach made this day feel tougher than it looked, with me trying to stay polished while feeling the pivot resist me.

I'm craving some beef consomme. I remember when I think I got Campbell's soup, I was wondering to myself: *what the eff is this?* -- as I poured out the beef consomme. It was clear, expensive stuff at £2 or £4. It tasted delicious. I wish we had a Tescos.

The standard rejection letter we use is:

"Dear Mr ABC XYZ

Thank you for your application and for expressing interest in discussing career opportunities with Cyberspace Command.

After careful examination of your application, we have concluded that we cannot proceed with your candidacy for the ABC position at this time. A decision such as this is always hard to make as it requires us to choose from a group of highly qualified and accomplished individuals, such as yourself. Unfortunately, due to our candidate volume we cannot provide individual feedback on resumes or applicants.

Although we cannot interview you right now, we encourage you to stay in touch perhaps either by following our social media or website.

We appreciate your interest in our firm and hope we might connect with you again.

Sincerely

Lehan Edirisinghe

Chairman and CEO

Cyberspace Command"

I think it's a beautiful rejection letter. I always used to use it. But then, I decided on Facebook to reject applications with a Simple Rejection Message: "we cannot proceed with your application at this time" because we need to reject 90% and it takes too long to write/ copy paste so much for each candidate.

Sometimes i add, "we wish you the best of luck with your future". I only respond to very serious candidates with the standard rejection letter. Who knows? Maybe one day, we'll send out the standard rejection letter to everyone again. I mean it looks beautiful and I love art. I'm all about that: 'Ars Gratia Artis'! 🖼🎨🎭

I wrote and sent an email to Mr Harry Jayawardena, it's got a minor mistake. The email hadn't gone through apparently, DCSL is investigating.
