Story

8:00 p.m.

Dave ██████, you are hereby granted Sri Lankan citizenship. You are also appointed the 1st Law Minister. We have a big legal team.

All you should try to do is replicate Nordic country systems.

We want to also offer Singaporean law speed. But lower fines. So, that it is much more reasonable. More about face, less about damages.

Death penalty, most likely, we'll abolish it. We see data where when it is abolished, it usually means fewer murders.

If it is a convicted murderer, with confession, lower jail, or fine. Without confession, high jail sentence. But Nordic, Norway reform style.

I don't really know.

We want to import all of those civil law codes. We want to also "simulate" legal cases of importance, and add those to our own rules.

Our legal system, is a real mess. Most SL parliamentarians, don't really have any idea what they're doing, the rules are obsolete or archaic. Some Draconian punishments exist from colonial era days.

You are better off just starting from scratch, writing in good laws, and then, we'll adopt all of those pieces of legislature. So we're an advanced country as per our rules of law, and court processing.

I personally want to adopt a white-hat penetration testing method, where you hack before real criminal hackers do, with our legal system. Where it becomes impossible to pervert justice or politically interfere. If you think this is sound, we can go for it.
