Trash
Decisions we stand behind, in our own words. What we refused, what we pulled, what we published anyway — and the rule each one left behind. Open a case to read what happened.
A publisher is what it refuses
Every case here is a decision we made in full, on the record, with dates — and the standard it set is printed at the end of it. An author knows our terms before they write to us, and a reader knows what our name on a book is worth.
We publish work we believe in, including work that costs us something: one of these cases is a memoir attacking our founder's own family, and we carried it. We take our own books down when they fall short of the standard, and we take evidence to federal authorities when that is where it belongs.
Applicants
We see many cool people who want to partner up with AngryPages. Many founders, politicians, business owners, investors, media figures, celebrities and micro social influencers, brands, job applicants, etc. We typically show our Chief Operating Officer role as available on Wellfound because it's a C-suite role in an early-stage startup. Out of privacy, trust, and safety reasons, we hide any secrets, confidential, or personally identifying information in this area. This is merely to offer some transparency on difficult decisions.
These projects may be treasure to someone else
We can encourage authors or other publishers to contact us if they want to get these projects from us, as we understand what we call trash might be treasure to them.
Except that CSAM figure — the FBI told us to complain to their local police about him.
Contact. Correspondence stays in the email client until we publish it on purpose.
