Had a long intense dream. I guess that I forgot the first parts. A dream is like a movie. I often, when I watch long movies, The Hateful Eight, and maybe I'm just stupid, but I often forget who the bad guys are. I often forget the plot in Reservoir Dogs, who betrays whom. I forget my dreams like most people. But those dreams take the form of a movie.

It's a new day. A new year. I have decided that the Captain's Log 2021 and 2022, were great fun. But those two volumes are now worth cutting or ending. And yes, with every ending, there's a new beginning. And no, it won't just cut off. No. It's a diary. It should just be, that the original

I have another website for our political party. It hasn't been released. I'm only 1st secretary general there. I should ask Lalith Kahatapitiya or some of our celebrities to be in charge of it. Lalith can be party chairman. Over there, the policies are even more convoluted. Or more easy to follow. I don't know. For me, my Captain's Log is the easiest to follow as I require huge amounts of information. Many people find it convoluted. There is no beginning and end. But Vote Lehan, there is just the policies, and an explanation. It's okay. But I wouldn't say it's entertaining enough to entertain myself. The party website is whack boring. It's just the policies proposed and updates or something.

What I should do, is somehow, package it all as an "entertainment product". Then it's okay. I should also earn like $100,000 and buy a big server from Dell, and have fun setting it up. So I can leave Hostinger. And pay someone to set up the server right.

I'm going to get my breakfast. I think I'm waiting on a new laptop. I have an option to buy a beautiful Macbook Air M1 2020, which looks stunning. At Rs 356,000. Close to 999 dollars. Locally. Or buy a new Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 2022, which will be replaced this year, in a few months. At A$2,700. Rs 675,000. Why? It feels stupid, like I'm visiting a casino. To get robbed deliberately. And I should spend the extra Rs 200,000 marketing my book.. or my very high maintenance blog, which asks you to pay $1 for a copy of a week, $5 for month, which is what I'm shifting to, and $50 per year. Or $100. Although, you get 10 free copies to gift, a reseller discount to resell (50% margin) and your named as a cult member.

I think some parts of my diary, I won't put up on my website diary. As you don't want to monetize that stuff. And also, it's worth, configuring you to require after a few 10, or 15 free views, people are asked only to sign in using a Facebook account login or else a Google login. They can read whatever they wish. Maybe, better yet, give 100 pages or 10,000 words free. And force login. But not a Google account actually. Just Facebook.

Choosing a Gold MacBook Air Over a Dell Inspiron

I had my lunch. I'm starting to really believe that an Apple Macbook Air M1 2020 will be good for me. It's just Rs 360,000. And I can save money to buy a desktop if I want to do any video gaming. Why get an Inspiron 16 Plus? It's obvious a new one will come out in 2nd Quarter or Spring. So will a new 15 inch Macbook Air. Which has a M2 processor or a better processor.

I check stuff very indepth. I know about lithography. I think a Inspiron is 10nm. Macbook Air 2020 M1 is 5nm. This is crazy. It goes to show that these technology makers, Apple is one of the top 5, for a reason and Dell, sadly, isn't. Apple is hardcore. And I think a new M3, will be 2nm. So like the new Intel chips. It's not just hot air marketing. No, they do a good job. And Steve Jobs, jeez. He's pretty cool. And so iconic. Nobody can really match up to him. Not Gates, not Zuck, not Woz, not Sandberg, not Summers, not Page or Brin, or that Elison, not even Musk or McAfee, not anyone, not Tim Cook. It's absurd. Nobody can rival Barack Obama's iconic persona. It's just one of those things.

It feels like I'm making a mistake buying a Dell Inspiron. And not a Macbook Air. I am also just in love with the design. It looks beautiful. This Macbook Air, the gold color option. All that shines is gold. It's so beautiful to look at. And I can't stop looking. I think that it's a real crime for a machine, a piece of hardware to be allowed to look so beautiful.

As they can do the job I have in my mind for my Sri Lanka. We as in, the country, our people of Sri Lanka, we get the benefit. The Bank of Sri Lanka, this is owned by the depositors, who all get the full interest rate owed. Yes, maybe "one of my Norwegians" like Fink or Lloyd or Rubenstein will show up or deposit cash and may vote for people we want running this bank, such as Jim Robinson III, but that's probably best. We will have a lot of funds deposited here and vote in many people as well. And yeah, most likely, before an election, they will pull their funds out, as I doubt they'll accept a risk of a new government not as honest. I don't get anything, well besides, millions of dollars openly as my official pay.

And yeah, I'm paying chairmen of SWF, BOSL, SLT, SLU, SRF, maybe close to or upwards of $450,000 per year. Because we want to pay premium for good, real and capable leadership. This is a private sector area which we're monopolizing and we cannot get this wrong in any way.

Okay, so I'm not good with anything. I don't know if my statistics here is right. I kinda get the feeling I may be wrong. But upon checking it, I think it's mostly right.

Choosing a MacBook Air and Spending the Savings on Promotion

I'm getting my dinner and sleeping. I have to wait patiently till February for a new laptop from Dell, because my cousin Seshitha Gunadasa has to buy it in Sydney Australia, and then transport it and gift it to me.

It's a bit too long. I might as well get a Rs 360,000 Macbook Air M1 2020 model. And then with the Rs 550,000 - Rs 360k = Rs 190,000. I could likely pay to promote my book on Facebook. Even if I get it from Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC on a 12 month loan, it's a lower interest rate, though Bank of Ceylon is 2% or something. Hmm... and we can use the money to promote it for sales or something.

The Macbook Air is remarkably easy to transport. It's beautiful. Premium. Apple. Apple is better than Dell. Better lithography. 5nm instead of 10nm. The new Dell Inspiron can be useful, it's new. It's going to be replaced by next month. I think 13th generation, 14th generation Intel. It doesn't seem like such a good deal.

If I save Rs 190,000. That's $520 bucks. I could use it to pay $16 of advertising per day on Facebook for my book. Or else, you know, maybe pay Jonathan Hirshon his public relations fees. Hehe

I could also just buy a desktop later.
