I learned today that the US army has 3 tiers of units. Tier 1 is the best, gets most funding and training per capita / soldier.
3 White: 82nd and 101st Airborne, Marine Corp Recon Battalion, Navy Riverine, Air Force 142nd Fighter Wing.
2 Grey: Navy Seals, Navy Swix, Marine Raiders, Air Force Combat Control, PJs, Army Rangers, Army Special Forces, Night Stalkers.
1 Black: Delta Force, Dev Group, 24th Special Tactics Squadron, Intelligence Support Activity and the Regimental Reconnaissance Company.
