I think this is how Sheryl Sandberg feels.
They see Sri Lanka as a "humanitarian crisis" brought on by a full-blown failure
Everyone on my Facebook, showing up, they are all senior people. They see the country as a crisis emergency situation.
They want to help.
People like Dilith Jayaweera are not 100% guilty. When I see him, I see a very sincere, kind and sensitive man. Somebody who wants to see Sri Lanka succeed. He would have made a better president than Gotabaya.
When I read the news. It is very depressing. I don't originate any of the stories critical of Sri Lanka. I often cite secondary sources or comment on what I read. Where I do originate is when I propose new strategies -- or when I compare the way SL does business with the best in the world.
Again. I haven't taken part in the Gota Go Gama protests. I voted for Gotabaya. I'm proud of my decision. I'm proud most of all that I at least voted. In the 90+ days of protests, I not once took part.
One time, I went to watch Uncharted at the One Galle Face cinema. I walked out towards the Galle Face protest site. I never took part in it. I walked down the opposite direction.
I've never asked Gotabaya to resign.
If I had to vote again: I'd pick Gotabaya over Sajith Premadasa.
I'd pick Gotabaya because he's a bit smarter than Sajith.
I wouldn't vote for Ranil.
I won't vote for Dhammika Perera.
I have good opinions on Dilith. I just read this Daily Mirror newspaper article. Where they quote some MP that tea firms and supermarkets don't pay taxes. My understanding is Dilith George Steuart, Merrill Fernando's Dilmah, they are the top two tea exporters. Cargills Food City, JKH are the supermarket chains.
I don't like tax evasion.
The reason I'm considering cutting taxes is because the effective rate will be low. This is because it's easy and accepted now that the standard business model is to incorporate in Delaware, then use the new international business structure, of a holding company, then trust fund, trust company, then beneficiary.
This is reality.
Taking action against tax evasion is also essential now. It's not targeting this guy or that guy individually. But maybe all of them bundled up together.
The country's failed because of absolute lawlessness.
The courts don't work.
People don't respect the courts. It's not like the 2nd or 3rd or 4th commandment. Where you must obey and honor your parents. No. The courts, if they are horrid parents, the kids, the people will lose respect for them.
This is obviously what's happened.
When even I am not comfortable setting up a business here, all that happens is Sri Lanka is colonized, we lose money.
This kind of impunity, that we saw for ages now. It's ruined the place to shambles.
The IMF will tell you the same thing.
You people have dishonored, disrespected and delayed me. Now, you just f***ing learn to wait on my ass.
While I didn't ask. I do recommend Gota step down. As he's being accused of being a criminal. When you steal, you lose all credibility. When you are doing international business, when you steal, it's the end of it for you.
Nobody wants to cooperate with you.
Ranil has to bring the criminals to justice, or else, he's complicit.
Sandberg, many people may feel sorry for the country.
But you must also feel sorry for the place.
You must also start to get honest.
Start telling the truth.
You will have to do my whole campaign. I don't f***ing care.
