Look, just to be safe. As I saw D*** (Richard) Sharp, Rishi Sunak, Boris, they got in trouble for potential, perceived conflict of interests.
I'll generally, when I meet people, like whomever, let's say Asoka Karunaratne at BOC, I'll go with a witness, or record and publish things I say, or share a letter or correspondence.
This way, that guy's safe and I'm safe. You want to do so, so they're secure. I think Kanchana, I won't meet, I won't meet GM and Ruwan at Bank of Ceylon. If we do, it's the same, but that'll just be much worse honestly. I don't know.
I think I did tell People's Bank GM about a potential of conflict of interest with Sandalal, so he was angry and claimed he won't let us past front door. He's also interestingly an nAble director and contracted People's Bank as Head of IT/ CIO to nAble. ██████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████
I can advise Asoka personally, off the record. This is a fair way. I think it's however, considered very unfair to most people. As I'm a hissing snake, that's only ever slithering about and up to some conspiratorial plot.
People always watch me with paranoid eyes now, as though I'm the devil, up to no good, all powerful or something, and that I'm about to do some kind of magic trick or offer an illicit, evil "deal" in exchange for someone's soul or some BS like that. It's really f***ing crazy.
Whatever. I mean, it's well known, we always remember whatever we do. Especially, myself, everything I say or think is written down, published. So it's a very long term, very unfair record. It's a Lehan biased record.
Being as I am, a talented writer, I wrote my diary very entertainingly, so people enjoy it. It's just a fact. People read my work for entertainment. A nonfictional, boring account, wouldn't be this impactful. The reason why Top Gun Maverick was such a monumental piece of propaganda is easily observed in my work.
What can we do for Asoka? I mean, here's the thing. When Lehan goes and says all of this, before meeting the guy, it's out in the open, so you avoid problems. It's like you are protected by transparency. Transparency cult, logic, applies.
We could technically appoint him as CIO of Bank of Sri Lanka. But that's not cool. I can't do that. They'll pick people they want. It's a meritocracy. It's more like we can just be cool. The guy will likely learn more than the rest.
We can just go offer some great services, if we get to see them. We can probably just be open and transparent about it. They can cooperate on things in any case, as we can figure it out.
Appointing Thilanga, Jagath, is a f***ing nightmare. I think Thilanga's even been deputy speaker, Jagath was always All Ceylon Buddhist Congress president. I've never even spoken to Shavendra. I'm appointing him there as 1st defense minister because he can lead that better than anyone else.
Kanchana's the most senior banker in Sri Lanka. The chairman is the highest ranking guy in a bank or any organization, and Bank of Ceylon's the biggest. All I asked them was to get the CFO to get ready for a bloody, gruesome (difficult) merger of BOC, People's and NSB in Sri Lanka, very rapidly. As this is a state asset, a public bank, we have a right to ask as prospective presidents. I never communicated with him for years.
He's also being appointed Deputy Chair, not the Chair or the MD. They usually ratify or approve the Chairman or Chairperson's board resolutions or whatever and the MD or CEO runs the bank's day to day operations. The depositors will have to pick whomever. I had lunch with him like 10 years ago. I was impressed by how he's so honest, and shows leadership, and has strong character. I never have anything nice to say about anyone else. Only him.
These fellows: 1. Thilanga as Speaker, 2. Jagath as Buddhist Minister, they're the only nepotistic (family, uncle) accusations. As absurd as they are. Plus, Speaker is in my purview, Buddhism is in my purview. They get a small 3% + 3% maybe budget. This is very small, insignificant, very low risk of corruption.
Not like Rajapaksa dynasty overseeing 50% to 75% of the budget, inclusive of the defense, finance, ports, highways (roads), economic development and whatever else. That is understandably crazy corrupt.
This British Broadcasting Corporation story's terrorization of government dealings or parties or whatever is crazy. I'm not bothered. I always prefer if people we get along with, are running these as if they fail, we look bad, not them. People are voting us in, not them, to run these state assets. I'll appoint anyone I wish, as we're tasked with getting results for our people primarily.
