Too Burnt Out for Long Videos, Ready to Read the Transcript Instead

The day is really about cognitive overload: long videos and MasterClass-style lectures are too taxing, transcripts feel faster and cleaner, and the only relief comes from food, tea, and the insistence that certain old accusations still do not scare me.

Looks like, this s*** will last for ever. I can't watch it. It's too lengthy. The problem is, I sort of watch things or read things very intensively. It's very taxing.

It's too much cognitive load. I'm not doing myself any favours. It's too much. Uh

I should just skip this. Go to documentary film making or even investigative journalism. But I don't know. I don't like to skip, or just leave.

I don't know what's wrong. It's like, in tuition classes, it's 2 hours in duration. The run time, it's 3 hours. Let's suppose. At around, 2 hours, 3 hour mark, you get so tired, bored, whatever.

Neurotic to the core, no doubt about it. You see it's too much. You can't healthily maintain so much concentration. I'm obsessive when learning. It's too much. I must be burnt out.

So, it's like, when I read books. I read the important books very slowly. I read the less important books, very fast. Just zap through, just skim it. See what it's about, identify any valuable information.

When watching videos. This f***ing thing. It's just too much. I watch it slowly. You can't skip. I guess, what I can do, is I can just watch in double speed or 1.5x

It's the best I can do. It's f***ing boring. I don't like to stare at this guy's face. His teeth are broken too. I don't want to be bothered. So f***ing boring.

I prefer transcripts. I like transcripts. It's easy. I can read an entire transcript of Adena Friedman on David Rubenstein show in 15 minutes if it lasts 1 hour on video. Or in 10 minutes. Depending on reason for reading it in the first place.

Watching videos, it's supposed to be easier. But if it's a Master Class lecture series. It's a lot more taxing on my intellectual resources. There's an unseen limit, you can't take in too much unlimited.
