Story

10:30 a.m.

I had the good fortune to meet Roshan Perera just now. He's the GM of Movenpick Hotel. He was walking around.

I just told him the food is very good.

I asked him why there are glass panels on the food as it was harder for me to reach it.

It's especially harder to open the lids of these food containers.

He told me that the Tourism Development Board, has mandated or required they keep these glass panels for Covid-19.

One, to stop guests interacting with each other from opposite the panels.

Two, to stop guests, who might not even be wearing a mask in preparation to enjoy their meal or to smell the food, from somehow contaminating the food on buffet.

He told me a Delhi, India based company was running Movenpick.

I told him I thought Ashok Pathirage and Softlogic own Movenpick.

He said, yeah, but the Delhi company is responsible for running it.

I remembered UK Sharma, my dad's best friend, who was Indian too..

So, I asked if he knew them from back when they owned and ran Intercontinental Hotel, which Dhammika Perera bought and renamed as Kingsbury.

He said he did, he knew Sharma's son Sandesh well, and they have been in Blue Water and various places.

He has met Thilanga uncle in the morning, my cousin Udhantha and Yulie have arrived back here in the morning.

I am enjoying a nice Americano coffee.
