They claim it will be constructed many years from now. But after it's done, for 40 years, they won't earn any taxes. Worse, then, it won't pay back. China wouldn't have ever done this themselves, it's not feasible.

If you can't charge corporation taxes, income taxes, property taxes, whatever, then only sales tax or VAT is charged. This isn't going to cover $15b. Worse. You pay for water, sewage, rubbish, electricity, which is a cost to us.

I think Upali Wijewardena and Vijaya Kumaratunga would have made great leaders of Sri Lanka.

North Korea under China, have supported JVP who may have killed Vijaya. I think it's likely Ranasinghe may have wanted to kill Lalith Athulatmudalli, and may have plotted to kill Upali, as he was a unsophisticated, poor person from the rural villages, and he was severely jealous and psychotic, totally deranged. But that this plane likely had a mishap, because these Cessna aircraft usually do fail. I'm surprised it was a short flight from Malaysia. Usually it is 3 hours. Most likely it was a malfunction. Many of these types of planes in 70s and 80s do malfunction and crash.
