Remembering the Punishment Lines I Had to Write at School

A one-memory page about school detentions and the repetitive lines used as punishment: do not bully, come to school, tuck the shirt in, stop cheating, stop swearing, and stop talking back. The whole visible entry is that remembered ritual of discipline.

3:45 a.m.

I remember I used to go for detentions very regularly. I was punished by being made to write "lines". Like Bart Simpson in the intro. I wrote;

"I will not bully my friends"

"I will come to school every day"

"I will tuck my shirt in"

"I will not cheat in my exams"

"I will not disrespect my teachers"

"I will not talk back to my teachers"

"I will not say bad words"

I just wrote one word, then the below one, and then, I started on "will" and then "tuck" and bla bla bla

The old songs in the Andersons Constitution are really bad, I like my updated, modern versions of Masonic songs; not enough being done to honour and hone the craft....
