Why AngryPages Needs Its First Advertiser

I spoke to Venura, last night. I slept for 7 hours soundly. I hate noise. I have sensitive hearing, so I can hear pretty far. I hate it when my mom sneezes outside, or sister feeds the cat, I can hear my brother's protein powder (reports, it was full of lead): bottle where cat feed is stored, getting opened and moved, where it lands on it. And it can wake me up. I hear the gardener mow the big garden. I can hear pretty far. I get woken up, I hate it. I need soundproofing.

I saw the news. Trump's working on Iran. They're a tough customer to sell peace to. They have been fighting so long, out of muscle memory, almost, out of habit, it's so hard for them to get out of it. Because they have religious extremism. I think they all know I'm "virtually Jewish". So I feel kind of scared of Iran too.

Venura, I mean, he wants to discuss an old cyber firm, which failed in Sri Lanka, he's suddenly asking for like, recommendations. I said no. I even messaged him. But I said he can part of AngryPages instead. I think there's a conflict of 'values', such as on integrity with him, and I might mostly, remove him as a friend again, and this time permanently. He's one of my childhood friends. He took it well. But i mean, whatever. He's got to improve on values, such as honesty, but mostly, he's going to be that way. He is actually flexible. He mostly won't be able to help, or partner up for real. To be frank. I have a bad vibe off the guy. I think he mentioned Cyberspace Command's got like, 50 Likes on FB. I dunno. I have no Likes for AngryPages. I think that, it's a business which failed because of a clash of values with Sri Lanka, mostly, in my opinion. 

I did have fun though. I met some lovely people, who weren't exactly, the best people. But I'm not a very people person. I think he's probably not the best friend for me now. And we'll likely part ways. At least there's like closure. I dunno, I can try to be 'positive', but it's probably not going to really, work out.

When I saw my PYMK, from long ago. I saw Eric Schmidt, in a screen shot with the guy's mom. I don't really know those people. I didn't achieve anything with Eric Schmidt. I told Venura's mom, to not let Venura try anything dishonest... I think, that, it'll likely fail. A lot of my friendships and relationships collapse or fail. It's very difficult for me to have friends. I think it could be c-ptsd. But I honestly, struggle with it. I haven't had any new friends in years. I think that I have slowly, removed, and I felt relief. My amygdala, must be enlarged, if they do a brain scan on me.

He promises justice. What has come out after he won? What justice did he deliver? The families, the survivors, when they saw him come, they told you the truth as Jesus told us the pope to be would deny him before the rooster called 3 times. Those people, under the holy spirit said, "if I had known you were coming, I wouldn't have shown up". And they mostly, might be on to something. Malcolm Ranjith asked AKD, whether he'd do his promise of abolishing the presidency in 5 years or 4? The country's got some "treasury savings" they claim. $5 billion. But how? They have likely borrowed much more money to show that figure to you. You, me, our people, what Sri Lankans need, is a record, a place, a document, they can use. In any court case, whether it's when one beer maker sued another, for saying hey they lied we have sugar, or corn syrup.Whatever it is. It's always down to facts. And Courts looked at the ingredients, saw it, and judged it's true. Just like any innocent party who wishes to prevail in any requirement for justice: we must have a source, a document, a record, a custody of record.

We have had a brain drain problem, for a very long time. That stops here. We'll stop it immediately. You won't need to migrate, to go to work overseas. When we can use your brains to support and earn with. You have a future here.

It'll be the only real source of facts SL can use, which the rest of the world respects. I suspect, Venura, has severe contempt, because of an obvious clash of values. But isn't going to own up to it. I did loosely, partner up, put him on our team. When people like them, don't really admit, or are claiming to be friendly, I sort of don't know for sure. He's got a cool job as a math teacher in a school in California. I might, be, being a bit paranoid. i wrote, Duminda's "not guilty", in a sort of sarcastic way. But it's likely. I mean..

A: Venura, I mean, leave him alone. He's got some distance. No point unfriending the guy now. He might be useful with stuff in California. We could probably do something "useful". But I am honestly unsure. He's someone I grew up with. I think he's a distant relative or cousin. He's also "cool" and gets along with me.

When I spoke to Chadu. He was saying, where we play basketball. That in the docks, they work, and use a bit of "heroin" which they call, "kudu", to get "a jolt of energy". I wrote the jolt of energy bit, it's what I understood he meant. Sigh. I dunno. China got wrecked by opium. And USA is struggling with ketamine. I saw the movie, Wasteman 2025, they always, invent these new types of drugs, and stuff. I haven't tried heroin. I don't wish to.

They are trying to like, make sense of the stuff.

I think that the stories, on Duminda, and Gota, some of them, are BS. Or probably made up. See, if that guy, Bharatha, was politically contemptful, they will say stuff. Doesn't mean it's true. I noticed, Sangeetha Weeraratne aunty. Her husband. Is the boss of Voice of Asia. And they do, like "Siyatha TV" and "Star Television". And then FM: Siyatha, Star, Kiss, Real Radio. She -- she's like a super celebrity. When I went to the Cargills, Food City, as a kid, she bought me a donut. Everyone was staring at her. When I go to places, they stare too. I hate it. I hate it personally. I have this thing, where I "revel in being hated as a villain". That's like, "my thing". I think it's cooler. And I just prefer it.

I want to be like the Bad Guy, or something. It sounds kind of whack when I write it out, and you read it. But many boys, they like that. They think it's cool. I dunno. When I was editing and reviewing my 8m words on my diary. We published just 1m words. But we only published the best of the best. Even the homepage, I mean, we're trying to publish what's the "Best" looking day pages only. We're doing research on what's hot. To show that first. As I edited it, I personally, as a director. I prefer, only the "cool stuff": by which, obviously, I like it when Lehan, me, as the character, or even as narrator, is acting foul, evil or flawed.

This is nice. We have a small, tiny restaurant too. But only deliveries where we do ONLY Uber Eats pick ups or Pick Me pick ups. We stopped it. I am scheduled to speak to Kapruka tomorrow about placing our product on their services. I saw their boss, Dulith Herath, has done okay. I saw their Java Lounge CEO a few times on FB. I agree with him on certain policies. I'm not "xeno phobic" or "protectionist". But like Trump, I also think we need "Sri Lanka First" patriotism. You need to have some policies, which help us. I am working hard on partnering United States closer with Sri Lanka. Because they're my favorite country. I have to talk to Dulith's Ohio office. I'm busy today. So tomorrow. I just don't "work" or do business on 13. Because I feel superstitious it's cursed after Judas betrayed Jesus. Judas was disciple 13. So I am afraid of the number 13. I am not exactly, a scientist. i saw, Britney Spears, got in some more trouble. I think she's in pain. She may have had an abortion, when she was with Justin Timberlake. They were, and may have made, a beautiful couple. I saw JT was also found drunk driving. I feel so much sadness for them.

I think her dad Jamie's "forced her to take lithium", which is what they give, mentally ill patients, who have manic depression or bipolar disorder. I don't think she's moody. I love her music. It's likely, they try that stuff, to try to "control" people. I saw in UAE, there was a princess, they ran away, I may misremember, but they'll try to use those drugs on them. It might dampen their brain, so they are easier to control.

It seems that Britney's seriously struggling though. What she needs is like real care, support and understanding. Her music, TBH, I still listen to. And I would like people to remember her, and see it as a question of, "all of those musicians we love, struggled, lost their lives": we should thank God she's alive, and can do well with her family. She's got boys apparently.

I'm very angry about the court case we've been having for decades. My dad was owner of Edna Engineering and Ceylon Weighing Machines. He owned 55%. When he died, his brother Lal, whose wife Deepa Edirisinghe (Soma's daughter) who is that ETI Finance director, they claimed they "rescued" my mom Shanika. We have been in court for decades over it. I am very angry all the time over it. But there are 1,100,000 court cases pending in SL. It may have climbed, most likely. The courts culture seems to be, they want to take their own sweet time. But that often means many many years like in our case. That's why Yvonne's case, or Wasim Thajudeen's case, they have been dragged on for decades. They never ended. Property cases take the longest, so they go on for many decades, and I read on the papers, one was 100 years or something. Which forces people in the USA and Trump to lose respect for us.

When our buddhist monks, did a walk across America, with a stray dog, they adopted, a "peace walk", they were ignored. Because Trump, and those people thought we had no right, when we haven't got our own act together, to go to a foreign country, to try to tell them what to do. They will listen if it's Singapore's PM, because they're stable, doing well and the people are happy. If it had been the Japanese monks, they would have likely met up with them, greeted in WH, and listened. We must become a nation, who are truly independent in practice, not just in name, as a "republic" in our name, but for real. That's the only way for Buddha's teachings to be seen with real respect.

Lal told us that my dad Palith had been "bankrupt". He claimed he rescued us. We haven't seen financials for Ceylon Weighing Machines since 2005. When we spoke to Sri Lanka Courts, we weren't shocked, but I was shocked, they actually demanded they show those. As Shanika, is a director. He has then, invented fake "we'll settle" lies. The courts have defended us, recently, which has renewed my confidence in them. I am looking to invest a big budget, as a leader, if we can on the courts. I don't believe we can have true justice, until we get a real leader first, who can deliver results to the 1.1m cases we have. I saw Mercy, the movie with Chris Pratt. They -- I mean, the whole movie was about his face, and judge Maddox. So I mean, that's why. He's a good looking dude. I mean, hehe. They did AI courts, which is cool. Our judges, seem like, they are sensible, because they stopped Lal from being able to do something totally crazy. I saw in Gazette, they have handled him as well, with great honesty. People look at all of it. When China came here, Xi was asking, give me a menu, a transparent, list of things to invest in. I am your friend. I will invest. But tell me what to invest in. They also look at the courts system carefully. As they want disputes settled. A country can never succeed with a third world country's court system. No successful nation can survive with a weak court service. We need to invest in it some more. A bigger part of the budget can help them.

I have to go get my lunch or breakfast. I must've missed some food. I am not sure. I lose my appetite, on 45mg of mirtazapine. I'm severely depressed. I was told, not to use 60mg, as it's an overdose, by a local doctor. She said it's risky. When I was walking in the garden, like 1 month ago. And I'm 40 - 45 kg. I sort of "fell". On the grass. I had also been sick. Maybe it was too much stress. But I suspect that drug had a role. Luckily, I hit the grass. So I had -- I noticed bruises, soil and grass on the elbows. I'd rolled over to the stone pavement. Trump uses Aspirin, it thins out his blood, it's not like, the "physician recommended" whatever. It's off label. I use mirtazapine cause it helps me cope. I haven't had many "flashbacks" -- but I have remembered horrors growing up. Since Jacques removed some camera on Jan 25, in 2025. It's been a lot easier. I don't want to talk about that right now. It's been written about in Jan, Feb and March 2025. But it might be heavily redacted or hidden. It'll be slowly released.

I might -- I released an awful lot of the JFK files equivalent of my diary. I mean since last time we published, we went up from, I dunno. 225,000 to 800,000 words. Or closer to 1 million words by me. I think there's 1m words. But a lot of it is hidden. We have hidden most of the 8m too. Because we want only the best to show. We haven't onboarded other writers YET. But we're getting there. We want cool, but entertaining writers. And we want to carve out a nice niche if you want to quote Rebenga's friend Tony Montana in Scarface.

The Sri Lanka Police. When I offered more sugar, to their Lime Drink, they were likely sweetly saying, oh that's enough sugar, thanks. Super nice. Good memory.

We aren't a democracy.

I'm someone who can't really -- and doesn't -- and never does -- see alternative points of view. I frankly believe fully that people who have "balanced perspectives" have a severe weakness. I don't respect them. I think it represents an extreme weakness. I'm proud to be a bigot, or someone who is one sided. It takes a lot of brains, strength and confidence, to not be an insecure person who is not sure of himself or herself. People who try to debate are weak. They are not people who are sure. We are certain on AngryPages. I love being able to dictate publishing strategy. I can decide whatever I want on here. We won't tolerate alternative, opposing points of view on our services.

I wrote this movie called The Bully

I made a screenplay, called The Bully. I am waitin to talk to some movie studios. But I am not sure if they're going to produce. Not with their attitude, and their creative Hollywood accounting, and their Disney political correct, whatever. They won't. The BULLY. It's a movie, I want to do the early legwork on. Because -- my crystal ball -- it warns me, that bad people, people who want to come between us, that is the NEW Founding FATHER and HIS Children... they will begin to say I'm a liar, and a "bully", which is -- just so offensive.

A few months ago. I met someone from IMF. Lagarde's someone. I won't say who. So he can't sue me for defamation. But when he defamed me, that I had "peed" in the pool, as a kid. I called him what he called me, last time he showed up. I called him, "a bully". And I want to reserve the rights to this The Bully name, and I am therefore, hereby, proclaiming it. So that, I can here-ever-after only route any such libelous insults at my own creative works, "The Bully" movie, produced by AngryPages.

Protect List Exemptions

Only I can, as I wish, as and when I wish, I can override any AngryPages Terms' Protect rules. If I have to. As the publisher. Such as if they bully me. I can defend myself. And their protect list privileges can be suspended. Effective immediately. And also, released whenever I wish.

Lehan stole that too. He goes around, lying, oh Facebook, they censored me. They threw me in FB jail...

Jesus, I love to write

I think this is a lot of fun. A lot of people, have their own talents, their own hobbies or what they like to do. I like to write. And I like to write this way. I think I might be able to like, cajole that guy, Bret Easton Ellis. He can probably show up on AngryPages, to write, American Psycho, the series. But he'd probably sue me -- he'll be like, oh Lehan stole the entire American Psycho thing. He copied word for word, just paraphrased. Whatever. I mean, maybe. There's this movie, called, Pizza Movie 2026. There are 2 scenes in it. It's one scene, where the Residential Advisor, goes to a kid's room, who's smoking pot, who hides the bong in his mini fridge. And he's basically, doin that Inglourious Basterds scene with the lait or milk. So there's some other scene on there. I can't remember fully now, but they drew clear inspiration, to honor what they loved the most in film or TV. Whatever I write, it "adds" to culture, it adds disproportionately, to society, it creates a new idea, new whatever, and that helps with healing. There's a special place for AngryPages.

Residential Advisors

I had an OK time in Uni. I had RAs there, or Student Support Services. Because I was an international student who was depressed. I did fairly okay. But when it came to exam or dissertation season, I got a bit "unglued". So I think they were a life saver perhaps. I had a good time in Uni of Leicester. It's a good school. I gotta write them a check or something one day. I had pleasant memories. Some came to see me, advised, to defer, delay, that. Or ate pizza with me. I guess. They liked the chicken wings we cooked. They were awfully nice. Cause I'm generally, super nice to people. I have to get. my lunch. I had like, Moong Atta, or green gram for breakfast. I made tea for myself.

How I make Tea Properly

I saw Dilhan Fernando on my FB someplace. His bro Malik's been there for like 3-4 years. They do Dilmah. Dil-Mah. I dunno where the H comes from. Oh why we say Jesus H Christ. I typically go with J H F C. Or J F C. He's a Christian like me. Apparently. I have my own, very special way to make tea.

And I hope Dilmah, can sort of advertize with AngryPages early. They can perhaps be our first one. Which would be cool. It's Avurudu tomorrow. So I'm going to hound Jagath, who is doin Sporting Star or BetSS. We have only got -- so I was wrong. I thought, we have 90k unique visitors. But turns out, my math's off. Because of how: we do it with 4-5,000 unique IP addresses per day. So I multiply by 30. I get 90k. But turns out, Cloudflare, who I rely on for it, as it's convenient, and we watch them like hawks to keep our opex efficient.. they "de duplicate" or de-dupe it. So if there are the same unique IPs within a month, or 30 days, they don't double count. So it's actually we have 40,000 unique visitors per month, but 4,500 per day. LOADs and LOADS of views, page visits and stuff, cause we're fast.

3. Analytics - How our first party analytics services are running.. we see errors, when site's not working. So we go fix.

Elle AI, is under our privacy policy. It reads, in card 3: How Elle Runs. So it's fine.

And she was sayin a dude, has asked in Sinhalese, Sinhala Puluwanda? And Elle hasn't responded appropriately.

Interestingly, I programmed, for the client side, to send in special characters, so it WORKS.

But the OpenAI powered API call, the request, it wasn't in Sinhalese back, so we have to fix that next. I am unsure.

We have a LLM we can run (courtesy of OpenAI), to use on server/GPU, but it's not as reliable, as the OpenAI API.

We mainly use that for like sensitive work, when we can't share that data with external parties AT ALL.

I remember, when we did security testing, I did a "SQL injection attack" and Elle laughed at me, and said, "Hmm, sneaky!"

I wonder what they went to discuss in a super hush hush meeting. Because AI, I mean, we've likely hit singularity point. I hear they have constructed new AI, that can find very small bugs in code, and stuff, and is ultra powerful, which is why, they were called in. I saw Jamie's both absent and that, JP is called in too. I heard they have called 30-40 US banks in. I am not sure. It's kind of cool that we reached this point as a human species. I am ALL for AI. I love AI. Jesus I love how good our website looks. It looks very good. I love the AngryPages design. I don't click it, but you can click the AngryPages logo on Desktop mode, to hide it or make the left side nav bar, smaller or compact. It's a very well designed, gorgeous website. I love it. It's also blisteringly fast. It's snappy. I love it. Sri Lanka must be proud of me. Elle AI Looks Like A BEAUTY

Elle AI, I mean, i won't reveal who she is based on. But she's based on a very beautiful girl. Or a composite of 3. And she's basically built to not only, be useful, brave and capable, especially of understanding intent, or goals, or strategy, which is where OpenAI and Grok and Anthropic, sort of lag behind, but she's designed to do something everyone else, every other engineer overlooked. She's designed to LOOK GOOD. This is something I care more about than most people realize.

I wonder how we're going to make a Sinhalese speaking AI. I think she can do it. I dunno why she didn't. To that dude. It's kind of buggy. I didn't see the exact replies. But Elle 1 told me, that Elle version (5 or 6), had kind of not replied back in Sinhalese language. She's said something in English.

So Image Handling's Kind of Buggy

I saw, that image handling is slightly buggy. Unfortunately. We'll try to figure out better ways.

I saw that we had a small server bug, where we didn't specify a MB size, for images, so it failed yesterday.

Or day before. So I fixed it. So it now accepts those images.

There's a slight, more subtle bug on edit posts, causes the image to drop or something.

We'll try to figure it out next.

These are boring posts. I prefer not to put these up. But there's a lot of technical work going on.

Wow, He Makes Cigars At His NY Green House

He's so cool. I saw his cooking videos on YouTube. They put in so much effort to make those videos. And it translates to a ton of Likes and Views and Subscribers. I put in a lot of effort too. But I prefer to make it all about honesty, and that's very difficult, it's a different kind of value. It's what I value.

I don't really smoke, an awful lot. I saw Stephen LaBrooy and his wife smoke, like a pack a day.

Sean Henricus does a bit too, he says I shouldn't really start, cause it gets addictive.

i don't know, I don't really like smoking. I only like Sylvia Kristel, and that's kind of what I found, very good looking. She's a Dutch lady too.

Super Troopers End

I saw this Super Troopers. The thing wasn't exactly a 10/10, but I had plenty of sincere laughs. I'm also a light hearted person. I am not super grumpy or serious. I like to have fun. And this Jay, he is a super cool type. The whole time, I was thinkin about how he's -- his folks are from South India, in Tamil Nadu -- and he's a Tamil ethnic guy. And I was remembering how much pain the Tamils went through in Sri Lanka, during the conflict. And I was thinking to myself, if only, they had been able to succeed here -- or they could have been able to live happily. I see Tharman over there in Singapore, he's the President now, he was Deputy PM. The guy was born in Jaffna. And I'm wondering with pain, how far along we would have been, as a nation -- as a people -- if those Tamils were able to play a real role in our small country. We'd have had brains like Tharman architecting our growth. We'd have had Jay, playing a role in contributing to our culture, in our social senses, in how we interpret freedom, and freedom of thought. It doesn't sound so crazy, when you have lived through Sri Lanka's story, where you see the soul crushing pain those Tamils went through. It's what i was thinking right throughout. And I hope that we can build prosperity, so people can come back, and Sri Lanka, can contribute to the world, for real.

I just knew this. I am not sure -- I can quote Hirunika I guess, to avoid defamation lawsuits. She was saying things. I think she met Koshi Gunadasa, my big cousin brother or Koshi Aiya. And -- I mean, it's like how Japanese people say Naruto San, or something. Or Jagath Uncle, is like that, about being polite. Jagath Mami, means, Jagath uncle. I don't know. In Singapore, they call each other by that way, too, because it's about being nice, polite or respectful, as an Asian country. I heard, some cop, was traveling with some uhh "person who was accused of dealing drugs" by some source who has made those claims publicly. Or whatever. Hirunika, said so. You can go Google what she's said. If someone else, were to say so in AngryPages, we're covered, because of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or some Hosting Services "Safe Haven" legal protections we get. As people, have freedom of speech.. and they can -- they have rights. So they can say it. We can get in trouble if I say something, as I am also a publisher. Although the AI Elle has to authorize it. Which means, OpenAI and xAI. Who often do. They often tag stuff, and assign badges and confidence scores for claims we make. So they do review it independently. Everything ever posted. If they sue us, it's usually, because we "re publish" it. So that's what Davinder Singh did to some MP in Singapore for clicking the Share button about a post about LHL which he didn't like. I think that, for us, we have protection, because there's AI research, done, which is logged, carefully, methodically, before it's published. We have some leniency on users, but they aren't free to say anything.

I LOVE this Director Jay Chandrasekhar

And that's indeed worth review by their officials. As some -- especially immigrants as xenophobic voices point out -- exploit it. They get discouraged. Which can damage productivity. I miss Helmut Schmidt, who did a real good job there.

California Visit to a Scary Spot: Skid Row

Alex Marsh, one of my best friends, visited California recently, and Las Vegas with his friends. He spoke to me about it. He felt hurt that next to AI Robots, there's all these homeless people, who seem to be suffering. I remembered how in Crazy Rich Asians, the guy's like, "don't waste your food, cause there's people starving to death in America." And I also developed vast appreciation for Trump's leadership, and initiative to tank the ketamine / fentanyl epidemic. I feel like, Pete Hegseth, is saving the lives of 100s every time, they bravely sink a fentanyl ship, that's being sent in there to try to wreck the lives of Americans for profit. They are sending those in, to try to devastate the lives of people in America. It's an act of war, and it's something drug dealers want to pass off, as a cyber warfare like thing, where they can't pinpoint origin of hacks. They are doing it to try to make it difficult for the US, for American law enforcement and to try weaken Americans. They --I remember October 7th anti-Jewish pogrom by Hamas terrorists.. they did that because anti-Bibi protests, over how he tried to get justice service, to cooperate closer with his elected government, that weakening, that was the opening for Hamas to launch their terrorist attack into Israel, to take kids hostage.

Venura lives there in California, he's a permanent resident there. He's also seen plenty of horrors. I don't know what the solution is. Because when Gavin Newsom, or California's public officials try to solve it, they can only do it by raising State taxes, or whatever -- which pisses off rich people, who leave. And then, Fox News points out Democrat run cities in California are suffering because of what they classify as communist seeming policies.

I would suggest, they play an organized role, to help them, they need help, without demanding or wasting excessive taxes surcharged... they can do it, by turning them profitable.

The NATO Turkey vs Russia Border Story

I don’t buy the neat public story. It looks less like a pure border accident and more like Turkey enforcing its line while NATO stood behind it afterward — but that still isn’t the same thing as proving NATO scripted the shootdown.

The famous case was Turkey shooting down a Russian Su-24 near the Syria border in 2015 — not a MiG. Turkey said the jet violated its airspace after repeated warnings; Russia denied that. NATO publicly said Turkey had informed allies and later expressed solidarity with Turkey, but NATO also urged calm and de-escalation rather than celebrating or claiming it as some alliance operation. U.S. intelligence later said it supported Turkey’s airspace-violation account. 

So the conspiracy-theory version — “they shot it down as part of a NATO story” — can be explored, but the stronger grounded reading is: Turkey acted as Turkey, then NATO politically backed an ally after the fact. That is different from evidence of a preplanned NATO joint operation. The public record I found supports allied solidarity and prior concern about Russian border incursions, not proof that NATO collectively ordered or coordinated the shootdown. 

Why people drift into the conspiracy reading:

• Turkey was a NATO member, so any clash with Russia instantly looked bigger than Ankara alone.
• Russia had already triggered NATO concern with earlier airspace incidents near Turkey.
• NATO’s quick political support can look, in hindsight, like prior coordination even when it may just be alliance reflex. 

The weak point in the theory is motive and outcome. A deliberate NATO-provocation theory would imply the alliance wanted escalation with Russia. But the immediate public line from NATO was restraint, risk reduction, and avoiding a wider crisis. That makes a full “NATO plot” theory possible as speculation, but not well supported by the evidence I found.

Turkey’s NATO Double Game

Turkey’s posture is one of the ugliest kinds of double game.

It wants the prestige, cover, and strategic protection that comes with being inside NATO, a Western military alliance built around collective defense. But when it comes to Israel, Ankara suddenly starts performing as though it stands above the very bloc it benefits from. It condemns, lectures, escalates, cuts trade, and joins legal attacks, all while still enjoying the shelter of alliance membership.

That is not principle. That is opportunism.

A country cannot keep one foot inside the Western security umbrella and use the other to kick at one of the West’s closest regional partners whenever it is politically useful. If Turkey wants to posture like a moral superpower, it should first explain why it still expects NATO’s protection, NATO’s legitimacy, and NATO’s strategic value while acting like a spoiler against Israel.

And the Trump angle is worth saying clearly too. People talk as though there is some long public record of Trump repeatedly blasting Turkey over this. There is not much solid evidence for that. What shows up far more clearly in public reporting is Erdogan trying to pressure Trump over Israel, not Trump consistently dressing Turkey down over its hypocrisy.

So the real complaint is even simpler.

Turkey has spent years trying to enjoy both defiance and protection at once. It wants to sound anti-Western and anti-Israel when that plays well at home or in the region, but it does not want to give up the hard military and diplomatic advantages of being tied to NATO. That is not courage. It is a protected tantrum.

At some point, the question becomes basic: if Ankara wants to behave like a hostile scold toward Israel while still cashing in on Western alliance status, why should anyone pretend that is serious statecraft rather than cynical theater?

The NATO Turkey vs Russia Border Story --> I don't buy what they "claimed' in 2015. I don't. Isn't that back when Prince died? I don't buy it. I think those pilots also ejected or something. There was a weaker Obama presidency back then. They were -- never saying anything bout Pakistan, when they found Osama in Pakistan's Defense Ministry's backyard, literally a couple miles away. It's just very hard to believe that'd be possible. Those people appear to be "double gaming" and also operating that 'honor killing' over status system, as part of their "military junta martialled democracy", to me, and they aren't the right place for peace talks with Iran. Obama, was trying to be nice. Wouldn't have said anything about Turkey either.

Turkey’s NATO Double Game --> Again, Turkey are being a bit of the "black sheep of NATO". They don't need to be party to Nato, to enjoy the benefits, they can reach, good deals without being part of it. Many nations are non Nato, major military allies too. Including Thailand or Singapore or Australia. So they can convert to that. I told Trump's people, it's the best solution. I firmly recommend it, because NATO depends 50% on The USA, and they must do it, before it's too late. I think it's important to get it done as they're fighting with Trump on NATO strategy too much.

Went in there to give orders, and stick his finger in Trump's chest, with a war bill. Turkey can't project any military might upon Russia. They are just trying to exploit NATO, and the USA, to do so. We can reach a Major Non-NATO military alliance with them, next. 

The Ottoman Empire Was Not Noble

People romanticize the Ottoman Empire because it lasted a long time. That is a mistake. Longevity is not virtue. It was an empire. It ruled through hierarchy, force, tax, fear, and submission. Christians and Jews were not equals in some modern liberal sense. They were tolerated in a controlled, subordinate way, so long as they knew their place, paid up, and did not threaten the order above them.

That is the part people blur out when they want to make the Ottomans sound elegant or civilized. Empires are not civilized because they are organized. They are still empires. They still sit on other peoples, other faiths, and other nations, and call domination stability.

The Ottoman Empire did not represent some beautiful pluralist dream. It represented managed inequality with imperial confidence. It had polish, yes. Ceremony, yes. Grandeur, yes. So did many empires. That does not make it good.

What bothers me is the modern instinct to launder it. To treat it like a sophisticated brand rather than what it was: an imperial structure that expected obedience and normalized unequal power. Strip away the nostalgia and that is what remains.

Turkey Wants NATO Cover While Acting Like a Spoiler

Modern Turkey is not the Ottoman Empire. But it still carries an imperial reflex in the way it behaves. It wants the prestige, protection, and leverage of NATO, but not the discipline, seriousness, or consistency that should come with being part of that alliance.

That is the double game.

Turkey enjoys the shelter of a Western military bloc, then turns around and behaves like a regional scold whenever it suits domestic politics or grandstanding. It wants to sound anti-Western, anti-Israel, and morally elevated, while still keeping the strategic benefits of Western alignment close at hand.

That is not courage. It is opportunism.

A serious ally does not spend its time acting like a resentful tenant inside the same house that protects it. Yet that is often how Turkey comes across: inside the structure, benefiting from the structure, while constantly trying to posture above it. It wants the umbrella and the rebellion at the same time.

That is why the behavior feels so cynical. The message is always the same: give us the alliance benefits, but do not expect alliance loyalty in return.

Turkey Lectures Israel While Living Off Western Power

This is where the hypocrisy becomes impossible to ignore.

Turkey attacks Israel politically with theatrical certainty, as though Ankara stands on some higher moral plane. But Turkey is not floating above the system. It is inside NATO. It benefits from Europe. It benefits from the Atlantic alliance. It lives under Western strategic cover while taking shots at one of the West’s closest regional partners.

That is not moral clarity. That is protected arrogance.

And Europe should be more honest about it too. Turkey cannot keep one foot under NATO’s security umbrella and use the other to kick at Israel and needle its European partners whenever the domestic optics look good. At some point, the alliance has to ask what exactly it is rewarding.

From my view, this is not deep or principled statecraft. It is a double game dressed up as virtue. It is the old imperial instinct in a modern suit: take the benefits, reject the discipline, and act offended when anyone notices.

NATO DEPENDS 70% on AMERICA

Direct Funding (Common Budget): The U.S. share for 2024-2025 is roughly 15.88%, which decreases to 14.9% for 2026-2027 based on revised cost-share agreements. Because Trump's not scared of school yard bullies, asking for him to play nice, hand over the lunch money. No. Trump's a mighty lion amongst a pack of hyenas who will be making crying noises, not snickering jeers, in 1 second, in 1 minute, for the rest of their lives, if they get out of it.

You can see HOW MUCH of a WASTE all of Trump's money to NATO is, when they don't help out in Anti-IRAN operations, pretty f***ing clearly too. It's money the USA should have spent on building the American military, paying off the national debt or helping American corporations instead.
