Islandwide Power Cut, Retention Talks, and Hiring Queue

The day was dominated by an islandwide power cut, retention worries, hiring, and messy internal deal politics, with me trying to hold the company together while recalculating loyalty, commissions, and who still mattered.

There was a lengthy power cut. It appears it was islandwide. I think that it was about 4 or 5 hours long. I spoke with Jacques, he's keen on getting our business moving forward. Imtiyaz reported he's in Kandy and is struggling to make project status reports. We seem ready to see uncle Thilanga on Thursday or Friday, he appears to be of the view he should be the one to receive the lion's share of rewards as he must get the deal and not the team, and I 90% agree that it's not possible for any startup to operate in Sri Lanka without political support.

I think Thilanga uncle will have to call Dr Hans to make sure the deal has favourable terms and includes our firm. Charith was handling Axiata via his dad's friend Gamini Hewage, because he know Dr Hans, but apparently, this is not enough because Dr Hans is now ghosting Charith upon sharing pen testing tender documents for competitive bidding. Jacques is very clever, I feel like just as Lee Kuan Yew had Henry Kissinger, I have Jacques Huyghebaert. Ashkenazi Jewish people are very intellectually brilliant, although Jacques despises me for keeping this "racist" belief.

Jacques advises me really well. He's advised me to sack various people because they're underperforming, including Charith. Charith has agreed that it's okay if I remove him from our board and not pay him as he wishes for our company to survive and to maintain friendship with me. He's a clever fellow. My team has a lot of smart people. I guess, Trump does have a team who can carry his business without him, as Charith told me, and I also appreciate this as a builder of an institution that doesn't depend precariously upon my individual personalty.

Charith's cousin Nalaka Kottegoda has won 2nd place in Matala District under the SLPP led by Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The 1st and 3rd place winners were both relatives. Charith also, I guess, he's like my best friend. I should find a way to retain him. He's agreed to join a Kandy Freemasons lodge upon my suggestion as well. I shared his details with Malin Goonetileke, the previous District Grand Master. They'll connect. I think Malin visits Kandy a lot for Freemasonry. I think if it's Rs 100mn, and I can keep 50% (which is actually Thilanga uncle's cut of the earnings), give 35% as a "commission gift" to whoever via Thilanga uncle and then 15% goes to our team.

Originally, I planned for the teammate to pay that 35% and give the teammate 50% to pay to someone. But now, I guess, that Thilanga uncle should be the one to pay that 50% somehow. That way it's done secretly and I exploit his bad reputation and public perception as a mafia villain boss godfather to make sure that things go according to plan. I guess that what I can do is tell Jacques and then tell the account manager to maintain some kind of relationship with the decision maker, and use Thilanga uncle strategically.

Whatever Thilanga uncle wants to do or pay to these people, we'll just do it. That's the best way to settle any disputes. I think ███████████will be useful in getting at those 2 Capital Maharaja directors. I think there's a big boss at Capital Maharaja called Rajandram Rajamahendran who owns it. Denzil reports that Denzil is friends with Basil Rajapaksa, the mastermind behind SLPP and Viyathmaga program. Denzil reported to me that █████████████████████████████████████ and hates Rajapaksas who have spurned him and his son who's friends with Sajith Premadasa.

I met Ali Sabry at his house ████████████████████ I also met him at Uwin Waidyaratne's wedding, he might or might not know Uwin's dad war hero Captain Lasantha Waidyaratne who flew Gotabaya Rajapksa in a "Jaffna Fort Rescue Landing Mission" during the war with the LTTE.
