Yellow Regret, Dictator Joke

November 16, 2023 Lehan Edirisinghe

A childhood trade-off left regret about giving away Pokémon Yellow and keeping Blue for Blastoise. Later, a Blinken/Biden/Xi clip triggered a sad beat and a French “big dictator” joke

The image is a frame from a video discussing the challenges of completing a Living Pokédex in different versions of Pokémon games. It features the cover art of "Pokémon Blue Version" on the left and "Pokémon Yellow Version" on the right. The "Blue Version" cover shows Blastoise, a large blue turtle-like Pokémon, against a blue background. The "Yellow Version," labeled as "Special Pikachu Edition," highlights Pikachu, the franchise's iconic yellow electric mouse Pokémon, against a bright yellow background. Both are for the Nintendo Game Boy, with the Game Boy branding in purple on the sides of each cover. The visual theme is nostalgic, leveraging the classic box art to emphasize the discussion topic. The text "The impact on the Living Pokédex" is prominently displayed above the covers, indicating the video’s focus on how each game affects the ability to complete a Living Pokédex. The background is light gray, with pixel art of Pikachu at the bottom corners, reinforcing the Pokémon theme. The overall mood is informative and retro, appealing to fans of the original Pokémon games.

Regretting Keeping Pokémon Blue Instead of Yellow

3:00 p.m.

I gave Milan (my younger brother) my better Yellow, and kept the Pokémon Blue. As I didn't know it was better. And I thought the Blastoise is more powerful. Even if Pikachu can kill it. I regret this mistake.
