How it arrived
A user approached AngryPages and referred to a former employer in Sri Lanka; that company had no involvement in the submission. He sent a password-protected book that initially appeared ordinary. Reviewers found photographs of children that they judged to be sexualized and within the threshold for child sexual abuse material. The user disputed that assessment and described the material as borderline.
Our decision
We removed the submission, banned the user, documented what was found, and sent the material through a specialist reporting channel. We withheld identifying details that could expose the children or interfere with review. We also strengthened our terms, screening, file-handling procedures, and human approval requirements. Child safety is non-negotiable, and the user is not eligible for publication or referral through AngryPages.
