Watch Repair Errands and the 6:30 Ritual That Brought Me Back

February 27, 2020

The watch errands mattered more than they should have, and the day became a mix of liquor-business chasing, defence ambition, sentimental objects, and the strange comfort I found in my own rituals.

I noticed my dad's Swatch Swiss automatic isn't really working. I think it needs to be wound up or something. Something I don't know how to do. I'll ask Anura Gunadasa bappi how to do it. I spoke to Senaka Amaratunga a director of DCSL's subsidiary Periceyl. They import liquor.

He's pretty cynical and pessimistic about my project. Senaka claims that the market is pretty bad for alcohol. Barely enough people enjoy good booze like me. I dunno. I'll see. I'll try send an email correctly, and see what went wrong.. There was no bounce, no incorrect email, no too many hops, etc.

Two people offered liquor import permits to me. These are FL3. Whereas FL1 is according to Pubudu Dassanayake and Lal Anthony Amarasinghe or something, a Catholic who helped uncle Thilanga back when uncle was UNP in Anuradhapura, meant for local production. I dunno. I think I'll anyway get into booze.

A Jaffna Tamil offered at Rs 90mn. A guy from Colombo, Lal Anthony Amarasinghe*'s friend offered it for Rs 50mn. Plus, a bonded warehouse. I don't know. It's best for me to try use DCSL and Harry Jayawardena. It's easiest. I also have time. I can do the alcohol business later. I want to export.

10:45 a.m.

Hmm, I expect about $60 to $100mn in 2020 (Y3) from cyber security. $60mn from Axiata. I need to focus on that. █████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

Lockheed Martin make the f35, f22, I think. Some have clever women CEOs. ██████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ I can work with them. I have plenty of time. I'm just 26. I'm doing really well. I predict by like 2025 (Y8) or 2029 (Y12), we'll be working together.

11:00 a.m.

Even though Elbit Systems will not put up with me, I'm working with their subsidiary Cyber Bit. Elbit Systems work on this region with Singapore Technologies Engineering. I need to try work with them. I hope one day I get to buy that nice house for S$30mn right next next door to PM Lee's house in Rochalie Drive.

Oh I just learned that my dad's Swatch Swiss automatic actually self winds because of the body motions. I'll wear it and maybe it'll start ticking again. It's a beautiful watch. But I don't like to wear it for sentimental reasons. I want to buy a nice Patek Philippe grandmaster chime or Perpetual Calendar one day. I'll skip the Rolex, I think i broke my dad's one. Hehe that also I broke..

6:45 p.m.

I spoke to a nice guy called █████ Samarage. He wants to be CMO. He's got a lot of contacts. He's worked hard on his networking. Obviously, I can exploit this like crazy. I asked him to come for a chat tomorrow morning. If he knows Jonathan Alles, I can definitely grab like Rs 30- 40mn x like 4 apps = Rs 120 - 160mn from HNB.

He told me some SEC guy's a Freemason. I told him Sohli Captain is a mason and he's like my best friend (which isn't true), but I mean, he's my favourite person ███████████████████████████████████████████ ███████████████████████████████████████, █████████████████████████████████████████ I can't believe that Bibi and Trump aren't talking about Parsis!

7:00 p.m.

I don't know what I was doing today. I need to drink my coffee. I hate hot coffee. I don't like to boil my mouth because I imagine you get cancer from boiling your mouth and "oesophagus" or something. I don't know. I don't like the Harishchandra brand coffee you find in Sri Lanka, I like the Starbucks one.

Today I visited a Swiss Swatch shop to show my watch--it's an automatic, I think it goes up to 31 days or something, it's not a fancy perpetual calendar watch. I had a chat with Lal Anthony Amarasinghe also. He wants to help me with my liquor business -- giving a liquor import permit. I'll anyway no matter what sell alcohol.

███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████My mum got me blueberry cheesecake from Caramel Pumpkin.

1:00 a.m. Fri

I had a nice chat with Sanjeeva Fernando. He's a nice guy. He's got contacts in People's Bank and NTB. We'll work on it.

My TV in my room is way bigger than the living room TV. I have a 55" 4K TV from university. Jagath mami asked to move it to the living room, but I decided against it. It's mein TV..

Pinky akki recommends I get a bigger photo of my graduation photo.

Exhibit 5. My favourite time: 6:30 p.m. and 30 seconds (Revelation 13:16-18) -- it's my favourite time for my religion: business.

I actually do it the other way, I have a red kabbalah string on my right hand which the Gangaramaya temple monks put on (warning me not to wear on my left hand) (it's not really kabbalah, it's Buddhist) and i wear a watch on my left hand as most men do. I don't know why I do the things I do, I do know i brush my hair left to right because good guys brush their hair in James Bond like that whereas villains brush right to left.. I think I'll get a real kabbalah red string on my left to ward off jealousy ██████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

I also need a Patek Philippe grandmaster watch specially made so that the Hour Hand, Minute Hand and Second Hand all snap at VI or 6 at the same time at 6:30 p.m. and 30 seconds. Of course, I'll wear it on my right hand, which as a Freemason, I'll ritualistically half conceal and half disclose in my shirt or suit, as I'll be ready for business when business starts at 6:30 p.m. as any proper lodge ought to.

The real reason why I treasure my grandma's oil painting portrait is because when Achiammi was small, she had fallen over and hit her forehead. She got a scar.
