Coffee Pods, Wedding Menu

January 22, 2022 Lehan Edirisinghe

Coffee memories from UK dorm rooms returned, including mouldy pods and favorite machines. A Hilton stay ended exhausted, then joy landed on Udhantha & Yuki’s menu

Dolce Gusto Coffee and Memories of UK Student Rooms

9:30 a.m.

I used to get a Nescafe Dolce Gusto by Krups Drop Machine: Americano every day. I think it was a lungo or something. I love it. Now, I prefer the Starbucks Macchiato which you can pick up from Amazon.

When I threw the un-environmentally friendly single use pods in my coffee bin, and forgot to throw them out, they disgustingly moulded once.

I loved my room in the UK in Nixon Court and also John Foster Halls. I liked the Nixon one more. It smelled like a coffee shop instead of my reed diffuser set aromas like white tobacco and whiskey cognac.

Getting a Forty Percent Movenpick Discount

10:00 a.m.

Wow. We get a 40% discount at Movenpick.

Packing Up While Completely Exhausted

11:30 a.m.

I am still very exhausted. I'm packing my bags, to check out, at around 12 p.m. to leave to my home. I am very, very tired.

Returning to a Heavy but Promising Script

1:30 p.m.

(b)

I am going to continue writing my script. I am happy to write it, it looks good.

The trouble is, that it is quite heavy, you know, you want to really sit down to watch it.

A Pigs-in-a-Blanket Joke From the Hotel Room

1:45 p.m.

When I was in my room, all cuddled up in my nice warm blanket, I think, those people, they saw me, and they thought: *Pigs in a blanket*.

Helping Hans Shine and Opening the Company Books

3:15 p.m.

I'm disappointed by SL's low rating for ease of doing business, although it is improving. ███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

If you think of Buddha saying lighting other lamps doesn't make the original lamp less bright;

███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████

I am not happy about that.

I will try to help Hans the most.

I think our firm, we will open up the books on purpose, we will teach how we operate, how our finances are recorded, and everything, so people can learn.

Getting Ready for the Homecoming and Sharing Financial Practices

3:30 p.m.

It's hot, my hands are sweaty, I have to get ready for this Udhantha's home coming event.

I am a bit tired, but I will go for that.

I think it's very good if we can open up our books to show the local universities how we do our accounting and finance or even our banking.

All of a sudden, our international best practises, will be automatically copied or imitated by the local companies and organizations in SL.

Umm

Could you please help me find out where my table is?

Her name is Shanika.

Surveillance, Political Ambition and Imagining a Cabinet Role

4:45 p.m.

(c)

I don't give a sh-t if my communications are spied on, there isn't anything for me to hide.

There are protections available, and as, I am anyway, keen on spying on the enemy, and even on plotting against the enemy, these things are best known to people on our side.

I manually disable my VPN for fun, I take off password protections too, because I don't give a sh-t!

We don't have anything to hide, i mean, it doesn't really bother me.

I don't believe Chamath Palihapitiya has a political future in Sri Lanka, I don't think Hans has a political future in Sri Lanka in competition with myself.

This Dilith Jayaweera, he is charismatic, but he cannot compete internationally as far as I can tell because he's not really too friendly with people in big tech.

Chamath blew it.

Hans, he is focused on Asia region, he doesn't have expertise in politics like myself.

I don't have any plans to be president or prime minister, right away at least, I can just opt to be a cabinet minister or something.

While privately, ethically and lawfully lining up my coffers with gold.

Building a giant tower with turrets.

F-cking with people I don't like.

Like, really, very badly.

Having fun.

I don't believe Hans has a future in politics because he's not very aggressive, people will complain on xenophobic grounds against him.

He will do well with intellectuals, but he will not win over the common people, workers and rural folks who make up large swathes of the country.

This way, he will only replace Ranil temporarily.

When it comes to technology and connections, we have the upperhand, we have all the cards, we have all the superiority.

As far as Dilith goes, we will share some things with him because he can speak English.

Hans is a good guy too, it is okay if he is squeamish and not blood thirsty like myself.

I think in the next 5 to 10 years, we will very aggressively expand our operations.

We don't have anything to want in terms of local power, we can do anything.

The script is just geared towards our new partner, to convince the US to go along with us.

This will result in hundreds of millions going into our vault; to invest aggressively.

I don't care who is running the country, we might appoint someone, but it will work out for me.

I am going to be the last to complain.

I think Dilith will easily beat me, he can get the votes from country (rural) people and workers.

Hans can get votes from intellectuals over me.

We can compete, I can try win over intellectuals, I can try to compete for workers.

The country people will never vote for me.

This is why, I will have to cooperate with someone like either Namal Rajapaksa or Sajith Premadasa, or both, to get the country people votes.

They will trade the cabinet positions for lots of technology, actionable intelligence reporting, media relations, international media relations, advice, funding from the gambling or new lines of business, etc.

It will work out for myself.

I don't really care for the presidency, I can be VP or I think Prime Minister or Cabinet Minister.

Being Too Young to Run for President

5:00 p.m.

Also, I can't be president. Believe it or not, I am just 28, and I will turn 29 in October this year. You must be 35 years of age to be president.

The video frame from YouTube titled "The Most Popular Cinema Cameras (Part 2): Arri, Red, Panavision, Sony" compares the field of view between two camera sensors—LF and Super 35. On the left, images from a film show a person in military attire leaning against a tree. The upper image, labeled "LF," has a wider field of view, capturing more of the background, while the lower image, labeled "Super 35," presents a more cropped view. The images illustrate how different sensor sizes affect the framing of a shot. On the right, there are images of two camera models from Arri, with branding clearly visible. The upper camera is an Arri model, and it appears sleek and professional, highlighted against a yellow background. The video frame includes captions that explain how sensor size affects the field of view. The scene focuses on technological aspects of cinematography, particularly the use of Arri cameras.

Refusing a Masonic Meal Charge and Calling for Regime Change

7:00 p.m.

I had a body wash. I am not really interested in taking part in Home Coming. But I will just go now.

I am very disappointed in the local Freemason leadership as they charged me 2,000LKR for a meal I didn't ask for.

Great Food, Familiar Faces and a Beautiful Homecoming

9:30 p.m.

I love the food. Me and Ganidu ate Yasendra's food hehehe.

I like it.

It's good to see so many of our friends.

I walked in with Lalith Kahatapitiya uncle and Indira aunty.

Gotabaya was behind us.

I saw Daya Gamage uncle and Anoma aunty when I came in.

It looks like a beautiful Home Coming, which I feel is better than the wedding itself.
